COSTUMES TO MUSIC VIDEO - ALIENATED FOR THE BAND ZEENON

MUSICVIDEO COSTUMES

I have been hired to design and make costumes for Television, Theater and the music industry like music videos and stage performances. An assignment have been too make the costumes for the Industrial Metal Band ZEENON for the music video of their song ALIENATED.

Working with music videos is working with expression. To express the music of Zeenon in the Industrial Metal genre I decided to burn and destroy the costumes and garments after they were made. I did also some patinating work with tea and coffee for the fabrics to gain a rustic look.The costumes have leather details from recycled belts and a bag. I also brought some metal objects like chains into the costumes for the content of the song "Alienated " where the lyrics goes " Power of four will set you free ", where the chains are a metaphor of the force that are holding us captured and chained. Beside the music I also brought inspiration for the costumes from my memory of a scene from the movie " Interview of a vampire " where the vampire played by Tom Cruise are dying and are wearing a ripped white and beige costume with an expression similar to what I thought would suit this video.I have brought bright red color to the costume as a strong contrast and symbol of blood and life.
