The same year after I finished my Graduate Design Degree on master level I was invited to create a happening for OSLO SYNTH FESTIVAL at BETONG. I decided to use my Thesis project The Cartoon Metal Experience.In this case I decided to use one of the characters from the band TOXIC TOYS, TWEETY the synth player.

In my Thesis from collage THE CARTOON METAL EXPERIENCE I studied the field of Image, Identity and the use of Archetypes in the music industry. I made an experiment to create a band from a designers hand, where I gave the band members a new invented music genre CARTOON METAL, costumes, a band name TOXIC TOYS and individual personalities and characters built on archetypes and cartoon characters from Warner Bros. to play with for the experience and innovation. My Major was exhibited on the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design in Oslo the capital city of Norway in February 2002. Read more about the project under THE CARTOON METAL EXPERIENCE .

The synthesizer player TWEETY from the band, with an external fascistic archetype personality combined with an internal personality from Warner Bros cartoon character the bird Tweety and named after it,was perfect to create a performance around for a Synth Festival. I did also invite six female models to create this happening with me.I wanted to make a strong show with a lot of energy, but still keep it clean and simple. Less is more. The musician composed the song THE SOUND OF FREEDOM within this concept. I wanted the composition to have the expression of marching sound a sound of authority.I made choreography to fit the song, inspired from the formations from a military horse show. I called the performance STAR TREK POPPED OUT FROM MY TELEVISION, caused from the 70s sound of the music and the costumes for dancers. I am also a huge fan of science fiction costumes in general.The song and show lasted for twelve minutes.

Feedback from organizers of the festival and audience was that the performance or mini concert was one of the festival's highlights.I was very happy to deliver a show with the result of my own expectations. Too lift the energy and entertain a crowd for a short moment, and leave some impression behind. It was one months hard work from morning till night.

For the curious ,DR. LOU DENZ ROCK FACTORY is the name of the production. Dr. Lou Denz was my own archetype character during the creation of the band TOXIC TOY. The brain behind the band. A crazy professor and inventor who breaths for only joy. Lou Denz is an anagram born from the latin word ludens. Wiki : Homo Ludens is a latin expression that means the playful man. The name Rock Factory is something I picked up on a trip to Germany in the city Augsburg, where I visited a club with that name where they played German Power Sythmusic whitch made a huge impression on me. Also I am aware of Andy Warhol's Factory. I know my popular culture history, and everything I do is done with a purpose.
